Killer tips to a successful newsletter that SELLS

Share your knowlege and passion

Use your newsletter space to offer sensational tips that show you want to HELP your customers (rather than simply sell them). Truly helpful information builds trust and trust builds sales. Are you an expert in your field - think about the sorts of useful advice  you might offer a friend and this is what you should share with your customers. An example of this is the free information we give away about optimising your website for better ranking in search engines.

Promote others before  yoursel

If you hear of a genuinely good product from another company that may help your readers, TELL THEM and good things will follow. When we help others to succeed, it is only natural that they will want to help us. PLUS we all know about 'special deals' in our own particular industry - what could you offer your customers that would really make their day.

Keep newsletters readable at a glance

If someone can not immediatly make sense of your e-newsletter and see an area of clear benefit of strong interest, chances are it will not get read. There are two ways to achieve this:

  • Careful formatting
and....
  • Length

We all know what it is like to think ' I'm too busy to read this now but I will come back to it later' and we never do. I recommend a few brief paragraphs with links to your website for more information. In e1 you can create special pages that are hidden from your main website navigation that will let you know which areas are of interest to your customers. Then you can focus on building the topics your customers like to read about and ditching the topics they don't.
