BASIC TIPS

  • Start with an easy domain name. Keep it simple and related to your business and product. But try to be a bit clever at the same time. Make it catchy and easy to remember. If you told it to someone and they could recall it without writing it down, perfect.
  • Get the right balance between copy and graphics. A page covered with text is not appealing, however too many flashy graphics and pictures can be off-putting too. When adding graphics, be sure you are giving your audience a clear view of your product. Make sure they know exactly what you sell and what they will get when they buy from you. Your text should be displayed neatly on the page and it should also give your customers a concise understanding of what you and your product are about and how it will benefit them. Use words that will grab their eyes and make them want to read more. You know what those words are, nobody can resist them - 'free', 'secret', 'important', 'sale' etc
  • Make sure your customers know you care about them; tell them what after-sale support you offer, let them know that they can buy securely on your site. Let them know that they are what is important to you and your business. Get their details and keep them coming back with emails and newsletters, discounts and customer loyalty benefits. Create a relationship with your customers. Follow-up on them and make them want to come back to your site.
  • Don't get too comfortable with your website. Maintain your standards but be innovative and creative. Don't let your site go stale, keep it up-to-date and relevant and make changes that will keep you ahead of your competition. Make sure your customers know that you are giving them the best, all the time.
Put yourself in your customer's head. Give them what you would want - great service, great products and an amazing website.
